Yann Tiersen – “Comptine D’un Autre Été: L’après Midi”
Posted in 21st Century on 09. Feb, 2010
I can’t speak French, but tossing the name of this piece nto Babel Fish yields the following: Counting rhyme Of another Summer after Midday. Now the grammer in the translation is a bit off, but what a beautiful title for a beautiful piece of sad classical music. The piece of sad classical music brought to you today does not send me running for the Kleenex, but it is sombre and I just really like it and so am adding it to this collection.
It was composed by Yann Tiersen around 2001. Tiersen was born on 23 June 1970 and is a French musician and composer known internationally for composing the score to the Jean-Pierre Jeunet movie Amélie. This is a fantastically famous movie, and a very high seller on DVD charts.
